The Arizona Cardinals picked up the fifth-year option for cornerback Patrick Peterson, according to reports Monday.
NFL.com. reported that Peterson will earn $10.081 million in 2015.
Peterson signed a four-year contract when he was drafted fifth overall in 2011. Keeping Peterson for another season gives the Cardinals time to work out a long-term deal with the Pro Bowler. He is scheduled to earn $2.88 million in 2014.
Peterson, who turns 24 in July, recorded 40 tackles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries last season.
