
The season is over for New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis and guard Eric Gordon.
With the Pelicans out of the playoff chase, the two players will sit out the team’s remaining four regular-season games. Gordon was ruled out earlier with an injured left knee and the team announced Thursday that Davis will join him on the sideline because of back spasms.
Davis, a 2012 first-round draft pick, will finish his second NBA season averaging 20.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and a league-high 2.8 blocked shots per game.
Gordon, meanwhile, is scheduled for arthroscopic surgery and expected to make a complete recovery. The injury-prone veteran has missed 151 games in the past five years.
—The Chicago Bulls signed guard Mike James and forward Lou Amundson for the remainder of the season, the team announced Thursday.
James (6-foot-2, 188 pounds), an 11-year NBA veteran, appeared in 11 games with Chicago earlier this year and averaged 1.0 points and 1.5 assists. For his career, James has appeared 595 regular-season games (286 starts) and averaged 9.9 points and 3.5 assists per game.
Amundson (6-9, 225), a seven-year NBA veteran, has appeared in 345 regular-season games (seven starts). During that time, he has posted averages of 3.6 points 3.5 rebounds per game.
Amundson most recently played for the New Orleans Pelicans.
—The Charlotte Bobcats signed forward DJ White for the remainder of the season, the team announced Thursday.
The 6-foot-9 White, who signed 10-day contracts on March 21 and 31, has seen action in two games for the Bobcats this season, contributing two rebounds and one steal in five minutes.
White is in his sixth NBA season and has career averages of 5.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 138 games played with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Bobcats and Boston Celtics. For his career, White has shot .507 from the field and .720 from the free-throw line.
—The Sacramento Kings assigned forward Willie Reed to Reno of the Development League, the team announced Thursday.
Reed is averaging 13.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists 2.4 blocks per game in five games off the bench for Reno this season. Earlier this season, Reed played for Springfield of the D-League and averaged 14.8 points and 10.1 rebounds in 44 games, of which he started 33.
