The Minnesota Vikings re-signed linebacker Larry Dean on Monday, avoiding restricted free agency.
Dean has played all 48 regular-season games and one playoff contest since joining the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2011. Primarily playing on special teams, Dean has 48 overall tackles.
Dean’s four special teams tackles against the Baltimore Ravens in December were the most by a Viking in a game last season.
The only other Vikings player eligible for restricted free agency was cornerback Marcus Sherels, whom they also re-signed.
