The Houston Texans named Brian Gaine as director of pro personnel, Daron Roberts as a pro scout and Larry Wright as assistant director of pro personnel in staff moves announced Tuesday.
Gaine was with the Miami Dolphins for the past six seasons, including the last two years as assistant general manager. The Dolphins and Gaine parted way last month when he was passed over for the Miami general manager job that went to Dennis Hickey, the former director of player personnel for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Gaine’s NFL experience also includes three seasons as the assistant director of pro scouting for the Dallas Cowboys and six years in the New York Jets’ scouting department.
Roberts, a Harvard Law School graduate, was the defensive quality control coach for the Cleveland Browns last season. Other stops include wide receivers and cornerbacks coach at West Virginia, assistant secondary coach with the Detroit Lions and defensive quality control assistant with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Texans promoted Wright after four seasons as a pro scout. Before joining Houston, Wright worked as an assistant director of pro personnel, pro scout and scouting assistant for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
