Indians sign 1B/OF LaHair

The Cleveland Indians signed free agent first baseman/outfielder Bryan LaHair on Wednesday to a minor league contract with a non-roster invitation to spring training camp.

LaHair, 31, is a veteran of three major league seasons with the Seattle Mariners (2008) and Chicago Cubs (2011-12), compiling a career batting mark of .260 with 26 doubles, 21 home runs and 56 RBIs in 195 games.

The left-handed hitting LaHair spent the 2013 season with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks after the Japan Pacific League club purchased his rights from the Cubs following the 2012 season. He attained free agency upon his Jan. 23 release.
