Cassius Marsh – Important – Injury
DE Cassius Marsh (concussion) suffered the injury in the Week 14 win over Denver and has entered the league’s protocol. He is unlikely to be cleared in time for the Week 15 game against Seattle.
George Kittle – Noteworthy
TE George Kittle ranks second in the NFL in receiving yards by a tight end (1,103) and 10th among all receivers.
Joshua Garnett – Important – Injury
G Joshua Garnett (thumb surgery) got on the field for four plays in the Week 14 win over Denver. He had missed the previous three games.
K’Waun Williams – Important
CB K’Waun Williams (strained knee) missed the Week 14 win over Denver. He was not able to practice Wednesday and thus is very questionable for the Week 15 matchup with Seattle.
Kentavius Street – Important – Injury – Transaction
DE Kentavius Street was returned to practice by the 49ers Wednesday (Dec. 12) and remains on reserve/non-football injury. Normally, he would be eligible to practice for 21 days at which point the 49ers could activate him, release him or keep him on reserve/NFI for the rest of the season. However, there are only 18 days remaining until the day before the end of the regular season.
Marcus Lucas – Noteworthy – Transaction
TE Marcus Lucas was signed by the 49ers to the practice squad Wednesday (Dec. 12). Lucas (6-4, 250) was originally signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent on May 16, 2014. Throughout his career, he has spent time on the practice squads with the Panthers (2014-15 and 2016), Miami Dolphins (2015), Chicago Bears (2015), Seattle Seahawks (2016), Indianapolis Colts (2017) and Oakland Raiders (2017). In 2018, he signed with the Detroit Lions on Aug. 31 and was waived by the team on Sept. 2. Lucas was signed to the Seattle Seahawks practice squad the following day and was later released by Seattle on Oct. 9.
Mark Nzeocha – Noteworthy – Injury
OLB Mark Nzeocha (strained groin) had to leave the Week 14 win over Denver and is unlikely to play in Week 15 against Seattle.
Marquise Goodwin – Important
WR Marquise Goodwin had two catches for 20 yards on two targets in his return from a two-game absence to deal with personal issues in the Week 14 win over Denver. Goodwin found himself in a different wideout position against the Broncos, with WR Dante Pettis having taken over his old spot.
Matt Breida – Important – Injury
RB Matt Breida (sprained ankle) was able to participate on a limited basis when the 49ers began preparations for their Week 15 matchup with Seattle on Wednesday. It’s possible he could return to action after having sat out the Week 14 win over Denver.
Pierre Garcon – Important – Injury – Transaction
WR Pierre Garcon (knee) was placed on reserve/injured by the 49ers Wednesday (Dec. 12). He will miss the remainder of the 2018 season. Garçon (6-0, 211) started eight games this season and registered 24 receptions for 286 yards and one touchdown.
Tyree Robinson – Noteworthy – Transaction
S Tyree Robinson was signed by the 49ers Wednesday (Dec. 12) from the Cowboys practice squad. Robinson (6-2, 202) originally signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 11 out of the University of Oregon. He was active in each of the first two games of the season and was waived by Dallas on Sept. 18. Robinson was signed to the Cowboys practice squad on Sept. 20.
D.J. Reed – Noteworthy – Injury
CB D.J. Reed Jr. (strained heel, bruised chest) played 65 of the 74 defensive snaps in the Week 14 win over Denver. He was replacing injured CB K’Waun Williams. Reed sat out the Week 13 loss to Seattle.
Jaquiski Tartt – Important
SS Jaquiski Tartt (shoulder stinger) did not practice Wednesday when the 49ers began preparations for the Week 15 matchup with Seattle, an early indication he will have to miss a second consecutive game. Tartt aggravated a previous injury in the Week 13 loss at Seattle.
