Miami Dolphins player notes for Dec 13th, 2018


*Xavien Howard – Important – Injury
CB Xavien Howard missed last week due to a knee injury and is questionable for Sunday. Howard is tied for the NFL lead in interceptions with seven.

*Xavien Howard – Noteworthy – Injury
CB Xavien Howard, who has been out because of a left knee injury since Dec. 2, did not practice again and Gase said he is week-to-week.

Hroniss Grasu – Noteworthy – Transaction
C Hroniss Grasu was signed by the Dolphins Wednesday (Dec. 12). He had been waived by the Ravens Nov. 24. Grasu is a four-year veteran who played three seasons in Chicago (2015-17) and one in Baltimore (2018). He played in three games with one start at left guard for the Ravens this season. In his career, Grosu has played in 17 games with 13 starts with 12 of his starts coming at center. Grosu originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick (71st overall) by Chicago in the 2015 draft.

Jake Brendel – Important – Injury – Transaction
C Jake Brendel (calf) was placed on reserve/injured by the Dolphins Wednesday (Dec. 12). He will miss the remainder of the 2018 season. Brendel played in four games with three starts for the Dolphins this season. He began the season on injured reserve before being activated off the list on Nov. 2. Brendel played in all 16 games for the Dolphins in 2017 and has appeared in 21 NFL games with three starts. He joined the Dolphins as a practice squad acquisition on Sept. 4, 2016. Brendel originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Dallas on May 6, 2016.

Ryan Tannehill – Important – Injury
QB Ryan Tannehill has an ankle injury but is expected to play.

Ryan Tannehill – Noteworthy – Injury
QB Ryan Tannehill of the Miami Dolphins practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday despite a right ankle injury, but is expected to play on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
Tannehill was injured in the final minutes of last Sunday’s last-play victory over the New England Patriots. Despite having his right ankle heavily taped, Tannehill was able to throw the ball and hand the ball off to his running backs during the practice. Coach Adam Gase said Tannehill “moved around well,” and will play at Minnesota “unless something crazy happens,” according to the Miami Herald.
