Detroit Lions player notes for Dec 13th, 2018


Charles Washington – Noteworthy – Injury
S Charles Washington is expected to miss at least one week with a hamstring injury.

Da’Shawn Hand – Important – Injury
DL Da’Shawn Hand suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain last week against Arizona and will miss Sunday’s game against the Bills. Hand was one of eight players who left the Cardinals game early with injuries.

Darius Slay – Important
CB Darius Slay was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after returning an interception 67 yards for a touchdown in Sunday’s 17-9 triumph over the Arizona Cardinals.

Jarron Jones – Noteworthy – Transaction
T Jarron Jones was signed by the Lions to the practice squad Wednesday (Dec. 12). He had been released by the Vikings from practice-squad injured Nov. 27. Jones comes to the club after stints this season with the Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squads. He originally entered the NFL in 2017 with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame.

Jonathan Wynn – Noteworthy – Transaction
DE Jonathan Wynn was signed by the Lions to the practice squad Wednesday (Dec. 12). He had been released by the Redskins from the practice squad Nov 19. Currently in his rookie season, Wynn joins the Lions after beginning this season with the Minnesota Vikings, where he spent time on Minnesota’s practice squad. He originally entered the NFL with the Vikings this season as an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt.

Joshua Frazier – Noteworthy – Transaction
DT Joshua Frazier was signed by the Lions to their practice squad Wednesday (Dec. 12). He had been waived by the Steelers Sept. 1. Frazier comes to Detroit after spending time with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2018 preseason. He was drafted by the Steelers in the seventh round (246th overall) of the 2018 draft out of Alabama.

Kerryon Johnson – Important – Injury
RB Kerryon Johnson is expected to miss his fourth straight game with a knee injury Sunday in Buffalo. Johnson remains the Lions’ leading rusher, but the team has survived his absence well. The Lions have topped 100 yards rushing in each of the last three games.
