Buccaneers hire Licht as GM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hired Jason Licht as their general manager, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.

Licht, 42, spent the previous two years in the Arizona Cardinals’ front office, the last season as vice president of player personnel.

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, Licht will have control of the draft and other personnel decisions.

Licht previously worked in the front offices of the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.

The Bucs’ general manager position opened up after the season, when the team let go GM Mark Dominik as well as head coach Greg Schiano.

The Bucs hired former Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith on Jan. 2 to fill the head coaching vacancy.
