Lane Kiffin is expected to interview for the offensive coordinator job at Alabama, which was vacated by Doug Nussmeier on Wednesday.

Kiffin is among several candidates for the job, and CBS Sports reported the interview in Tuscaloosa could take place Thursday.

He’s a touted recruiter and offensive coach whose pro-style system fits the mold head coach Nick Saban has established during his tenure with the Crimson Tide.

Kiffin and Saban are allies who spent eight days together dissecting Alabama’s scheme before the Sugar Bowl.

Saban dubbed Kiffin a “really good offensive coach. I’ve always had a tremendous amount of respect for him.”

Kiffin was fired by Southern Cal and previously served as head coach at Tennessee. He compiled a 35-21 record as a head coach. Prior to that, he was offensive coordinator at USC.
