Washington Redskins player notes for Dec 11th, 2018

Jordan Reed – Important – Injury
TE Jordan Reed suffered what was diagnosed with a toe muscle strain in Washington’s loss to the Giants on Sunday. Reed was scheduled to have an MRI on Monday to provide more specific information on the severity of the injury. Redskins coach Jay Gruden did not sound optimistic on Monday when he said there is a “level of concern” with Reed’s availability for the rest of the season.
“It’s a pretty god strain,” Gruden said. “We’ll see if it’s one week, two weeks or the rest of the year. We’re not sure yet.

Josh Doctson – Important – Injury
WR Josh Doctson was put in the concussion protocol on Monday. Coach Jay Gruden said he did not know when Doctson suffered the blow that led to his current status.
“He checked in this morning with symptoms so we’re checking him out,” Gruden said.
Doctson had four receptions for 84 yards on Sunday and has 39 catches for 469 yards and two touchdowns for the season.

Josh Johnson – Important
QB Josh Johnson, who was signed by the Redskins last Tuesday, will be the team’s starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville, head coach Jay Gruden announced Monday. Johnson replaced Mark Sanchez in Sunday’s loss to the Giants and completed 11 of 16 passes for 195 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Mark Sanchez – Noteworthy
QB Mark Sanchez started Sunday’s game against the Giants and went 6 of 14 for 38 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. He was also sacked five time before being replaced.
