T-Wolves sign 2nd-round pick Brown

The Minnesota Timberwolves signed Lorenzo Brown, Robbie Hummel and Othyus Jeffers to contracts. Terms were not disclosed.

Brown, a 6-foot-5 guard out of N.C. State, was a second-round pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. He averaged 8.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists during the Las Vegas Summer League after averaging 12.4 points while leading the ACC with 7.2 assists per game last season.

Hummel, a 6-8 forward, was originally a second-round pick by Minnesota in 2012 after averaging 14.0 points in 127 career games at Purdue. He spent last season with Obradoiro CAB in the Spanish League where he averaged 10.1 points and 7.2 rebounds.

Jeffers, a 6-5 guard, averaged 14.7 points per game for the Iowa Energy in the NBADL last season. He played in 13 games for the Washington Wizards in 2010-11 and appeared in one more for the San Antonio Spurs.
