Phoenix Suns rookie Alex Len has been cleared to begin practice.

Len, the fifth pick in this year’s draft out of Maryland, has been recovering from two ankle surgeries. On Wednesday, he tweeted that doctors have given him the green light to begin practicing.

The 6-foot-10 Len has had surgeries on both ankles, and was unable to perform at the Draft Combine or for teams leading up to the draft. He also missed all of Summer League.

Len left Maryland after his sophomore season when the 20-year-old averaged 11.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.
