Curtis Granderson was activated from the disabled list and was inserted into the New York Yankees’ lineup, batting cleanup, for Tuesday’s game against the Seattle Mariners at Yankee Stadium.
Granderson has been sidelined since Feb. 24 with a broken forearm.
Granderson was hit in spring training by a pitch from Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ in the first inning of a game in Tampa.
That game was Granderson’s first chance to play left field. He worked in left field during a rehab stint and was listed as the left fielder in the Yankees’ early lineup card Tuesday afternoon.
Granderson belted a team-leading 43 homers last season while hitting .232 with 106 RBIs.
