The New York Yankees placed reliever Joba Chamberlain on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, retroactive to April 28, with an oblique strain.
The 27-year-old compiled a 3.86 ERA in 9 1/3 innings this season, but allowed 10 hits and six walks. He is expected to miss three full weeks.
