Blue Jays trade OF Wells

The Toronto Blue announced Monday that they traded outfielder Casper Wells to the Oakland A’s for cash considerations.

Wells has not appeared in a game this season. The Seattle Mariners designated the 28-year-old for assignment before Opening Day and Toronto claimed him off waivers 10 days later. The Blue Jays then designated him for assignment just a few days after placing him on the active roster.

The A’s plan to added Wells to their 25-man roster once he reports to the team.

Wells, a right-handed hitter, is a career .264 hitter off left-handed pitching.
