Colorado fifth-year senior Jordan Webb suffered a season-ending ACL injury in non-contact drills Tuesday and his college career could be over.
“This is very sad for Jordan,” Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre said. “We all feel for him. He was doing well in practice, competing again for the starting job, and for this to happen and to lose him for the season is just a shame.”
Webb, a transfer from Kansas, can petition the NCAA for a sixth-year hardship waiver, but reinstatement of his final year of eligibility is not guaranteed.
Webb started 19 games at Kansas and had 1,434 yards and eight touchdowns last season with the Buffaloes.
MacIntyre will open the starting quarterback job to a three- or four-way competition.
