Detroit Tigers outfielder Nick Castellanos was among the players sent to minor-league camp Tuesday.
Castellanos, 21, is viewed as the Tigers’ top prospect. He will patrol the outfield in the minors, shifting from third base, where reigning American League Most Valuable Player Miguel Cabrera is locked down for the major-league team.
Castellanos batted .360 this spring with one home run in 31 plate appearances.
Outfielder Tyler Collins, infielders Argenis Diaz and Hernan Perez, catcher Bryan Holaday, righties Trevor Bell and Jose Ortega and lefty Duane Below were also sent to minor-league camp.
