San Diego Padres third baseman Chase Headley might be in jeopardy of missing Opening Day and beyond with a thumb injury.
Headley was flown to San Diego and the team is concerned his injury could be serious. He was hurt on slide trying to break up a double play.
The Padres said they expect to know the results of Headley’s secondary tests on Monday.
The All-Star third baseman was hitting .448 this spring.
