Unrestricted free agent tight end Dustin Keller and the Miami Dolphins appear to be getting serious. According to both the Miami Herald and NBCSports.com’s Pro Football Talk, Keller visited with the Dolphins on Wednesday and reportedly took a physical exam, generally the final step before serious contract negotiations take place.
Keller endured knee and ankle injuries during much of last season while with the New York Jets. If he does sign with the Dolphins, he essentially would be replacing Anthony Fasano, who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday.
Keller would be the second high-profile pass catcher to do so in two days. Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace signed with the Dolphins on Tuesday.
