The San Francisco 49ers have signed defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey, according to an ESPN report.
Dorsey, the fifth overall pick of the 2008 draft, started 65 games in five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played in only four games in 2012 after suffering a calf injury.
The Chiefs had worked to re-sign the 28-year-old Dorsey but couldn’t come to terms.
San Francisco could be hoping to use Dorsey to fill a void left by nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga, who signed Tuesday with the Philadelphia Eagles.
