TE Cook signs with Rams

The St. Louis Rams signed free-agent tight end Jared Cook on Tuesday, reuniting the tight end with coach Jeff Fisher.

Cook, 26, is familiar with Fisher, having played for him with the Tennessee Titans.

Considered the top pass-catching tight end on the market, Cook will be a formidable target for Rams quarterback Sam Bradford. He caught 44 passes for 523 yards and four touchdowns last season and had 131 career receptions for the Titans.

The Rams also are seeking to add another big piece to their offense. having scheduled a visit with free-agent offensive tackle Jake Long, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Philadelphia Eagles also are reported to be pursuing the former No. 1 overall draft pick and the MIami Dolphins are interested in retaining him.
