Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger returned barely a week ago and now he’ll miss more time.

The Pacers announced Wednesday that Granger will miss at least a week because of soreness in his left knee. Tendinitis forced Granger to miss the first 55 games of the season before he came back Feb. 23 on a restricted basis, playing less than 20 minutes per game.

Granger began feeling discomfort in the knee during weekend games against Toronto and Chicago and played reduced minutes. He sat out Tuesday’s practice.

An MRI on Wednesday showed no additional damage. The team said Granger will receive treatments and be re-evaluated in a week.

Pacers coach Frank Vogel indicated there have been no conversation about shutting Granger down for the rest of the season.

“We’re not anywhere near that,” he said. “Hopefully, we’re not going to have to cross that bridge. I don’t think we’re going to have to.”
