Major League Baseball officials went to Miami on Monday seeking records that show New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez and others used performance-enhancing drugs, according to multiple reports.
According to SI.com, the league’s Department of Investigations want to find out how the New Times got the records that belonged to Biogenesis anti-aging clinic founder Tony Bosch. Citing two unnamed sources, the New York Daily News said MLB investigators had examined the notes and documents and were trying to acquire them. New Times editor Chuck Strouse told SI.com that MLB has asked for the records, but added that the New Times hasn’t responded to the request.
“We are deliberating,” he said, according to SI.com.
Bosch’s notebooks and other records show PED plans for Rodriguez, Melky Cabrera, Gio Gonzalez, Nelson Cruz and other players from 2009-12. Rodriguez has admitted doping from 2001-03, but has denied these allegations.
