Louisville coach Charlie Strong denied on Wednesday that he has interviewed for the vacant head coaching position at Auburn, as had been reported.
Earlier Wednesday, al.com reported Strong had interviewed for the Auburn job “in the last two days.”
However, he told Pete Thamel of SI.com, “It’s not true.” Strong was angry about the story and insisted he has not spoken to Auburn.
Strong also told Pat Forde at Yahoo.com that he has not interviewed with Auburn.
Louisville is 9-2 and plays Rutgers on Thursday with a berth in a BCS game on the line.
