Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano told reporters in his weekly press conference Monday that cornerback Eric Wright has an Achilles tendon injury.
“That is a little bit of a concern,” Schiano said.
Wright did not practice Monday. The team played last Thursday.
Schiano would not comment on reports that Wright faces a four-game suspension for Adderall use, which violates the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.
“Per the league guidelines, I really can’t discuss it, and neither can Eric,” Schiano said.
When a reporter asked Schiano if he would be disappointed to see another one of his players disciplined after cornerback Aqib Talib was levied a four-game suspension for Adderall use, Schiano did not answer.
Brandon McDonald and Myron Lewis would likely step in if Wright misses any games. Tampa Bay plays the Oakland Raiders this Sunday.
