Green Bay Packers player notes for Nov 28th, 2018

Bashaud Breeland – Noteworthy – Injury
CB Bashaud Breeland, who was inactive for the Minnesota game with a groin injury, did not practice on Wednesday.

David Bakhtiari – Noteworthy – Injury
LT David Bakhtiari did not practice on Wednesday after suffering an injured left knee during the second half at Minnesota.
“He’s improving,” head coach Mike McCarthy said, adding it was “premature” to discuss the potential availability of anyone on the team’s lengthy injured list. LG Lane Taylor (quad), who missed the end of the Minnesota game, was limited participation. If they can’t play, Jason Spriggs would start at left tackle and Justin McCray at left guard.

Jimmy Graham – Noteworthy – Injury
TE Jimmy Graham caught two passes for 34 yards against Minnesota while playing with a protective device on a broken thumb.
“It’s obviously a real irritant during the week,” head coach Mike McCarthy said. “Just the process of putting it on and off is obviously uncomfortable. I would think his preparation as far as workload would be very similar to what we did last week.”

Kentrell Brice – Noteworthy – Injury
S Kentrell Brice did not practice Wednesday.
After missing the Seattle game with an ankle injury, Brice was back in the lineup against Minnesota but reinjured the ankle during the first quarter and suffered a concussion in the third quarter.

Kevin King – Noteworthy – Injury
CB Kevin King practiced on Wednesday. King has missed the last three games with an injured hamstring.

Mike Daniels – Noteworthy – Injury
DT Mike Daniels did not practice Wednesday. Daniels, one of the league’s better defensive tackles, has a foot injury and was in a cast last week.

Randall Cobb – Noteworthy – Injury
WR Randall Cobb practiced on Wednesday. Cobb has missed six of the last eight games with a hamstring injury.

Trevor Davis – Noteworthy – Injury
WR/KR Trevor Davis, who spent most of the season on injured reserve before being activated in Week 11, will miss this week’s game after aggravating his hamstring on Sunday at Minnesota.
Davis is hoping he’ll be able to play again this season. He said, “It’s understanding triggers before they happen, so I kind of saw it coming so I laid off it a little bit. It’s feeling better than usual after certain things like this but we’ll have to see.”

Anthony Coyle – Noteworthy – Injury – Transaction
T Anthony Coyle was placed on practice squad/injured by the Packers Wednesday (Nov. 28).

Eddie Pleasant – Noteworthy – Transaction
S Eddie Pleasant was signed by the Packers Wednesday (Nov. 28). He had been waived by the Cardinals Nov. 13. Pleasant (5-10, 210) originally signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted rookie free agent out of University of Oregon in 2012. In six seasons with the Texans (2012-17), he played in 78 regular-season games with one start, recording 86 tackles (67 solo), four QB hits, two tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, three interceptions, 17 passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery on defense. Pleasant added 30 tackles on special teams. He also appeared in five postseason contests for Houston. In 2018, Pleasant was in training camp with the New England Patriots and spent a short time during the regular season with the Arizona Cardinals, appearing in one game. He will wear No. 35 for the Packers.

Malcolm Johnson – Noteworthy – Transaction
FB Malcolm Johnson was signed by the Packers to their practice squad Wednesday (Nov. 28). He had been waived from reserve/injured with an injury settlement by the 49ers Sept. 7. Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 231-pound third-year player out of Mississippi State, was originally selected in the sixth round (No. 195 overall) of the 2015 draft by the Cleveland Browns. He played in 19 games with six starts in two seasons with the Browns (2015-16), hauling in nine receptions for 59 yards (6.6 avg.) and carrying the ball once for a gain of 2 yards. After being released by the Browns on Oct. 24, 2016, Johnson spent some time on the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad. In 2018, he was with the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason and training camp. Johnson played tight end in college, starting 23 of 45 games played, before converting to fullback in the NFL.
