The Cincinnati Reds placed left-hander Sean Marshall on the disabled list and called up reliever Logan Ondrusek from triple-A on Wednesday.
Marshall had not pitched during the first week of the season because of shoulder fatigue until he worked a scoreless inning on Sunday. The Reds called Marshall’s injury tendinitis and said an MRI showed no structural damage.
Ondrusek has spent most of the past three seasons with the Reds, posting a 15-7 record and a 3.49 ERA. The 6-foot-8 right-hander was 5-2 with two saves and 3.46 ERA in 63 appearances last season.
