University of Houston offensive coordinator Mike Nesbitt resigned on Monday, two days after the Cougars’ upset loss to Texas State.
“We wish Mike the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his contributions to the program,” coach Tony Levine announced Monday.
Assistant coach Travis Bush will call plays and had spent the previous three seasons as co-offensive coordinator at Texas State.
Houston scored 13 points in Saturday’s loss, tied for the second-fewest in a game since 2007.
Levine replaced Kevin Sumlin, who guided Houston to a 12-1 record and TicketCity Bowl victory last season. Houston finished the 2011 season ranked 18th in the AP poll.
