GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: The Colorado offense will have its work cut out for itself against a Utah team that’s stingy with its backs to the wall. The Utes lead the nation in red zone defense, holding opponents to a 58.1 percentage (18-of-31) inside its own 20-yard line. Colorado quarterback Steven Montez is coming off just the second game this season in which he failed to throw a touchdown pass. The junior signal caller has protected the ball nicely, tossing a mere five interceptions to go along with a 66.7 completion percentage (2,595 yards, 17 touchdowns). The result is an offense that leads the Pac-12 in turnover margin (+four).
DRAFT SLANT
–ILB Drew Lewis is one of 19 seniors following Ralphie out of the tunnel for the last time on Saturday. The inside linebacker’s numbers have dropped this year, falling from 119 tackles a year ago to 59 with two games remaining in the 2018 regular season. But Lewis remains a bruising stalwart along the defensive front who will look to add to his 160 career tackles.
ROSTER REPORT:
–S Evan Worthington continues to recover from the head injury sustained in Week 9 against Oregon State. The senior with 43 tackles and an interception on the year remains questionable while he continues concussion protocol.
–WR K.D. Dixon (hip) joins fellow wide receiver Jay MacIntyre (concussion) as questionable for the Utah game. The duo has combined for 726 yards and five touchdowns on the year.
