GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: Oregon has one of the worst pass defenses in the Pac-12, ranking No. 10 allowing 249.2 yards a game, but that might not matter with starting Utah QB Tyler Huntley out with a broken collarbone. The focus will be on Utah’s ability to run against the Ducks. Oregon is decent against the run, allowing only 143.2 yards per game on the ground. The Utes, led by 1,000-yard rusher Zack Moss, is second in the league running for 202.0 yards per game.
DRAFT SLANT
–PK Matt Gay is a potential draft pick for some NFL teams in need of placekicking help. He made field goals of 40 and 31 yards against Arizona State last week, extending his streak to 12 straight field goals made. He is 14-of-17 this season, including 6-of-9 from 40-plus yards.
ROSTER REPORT:
–QB Tyler Huntley is out for the rest of the regular season because of a broken collarbone suffered last week at Arizona State. Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said the possibility exists that Huntley can play in a bowl game.
–C Lo Falemaka, who was nursing an apparent leg injury suffered in September, did not play in four straight games before returning to action last week against ASU.
–WR Siaosi Mariner did not play against Arizona state because of an undisclosed injury after playing minimally at UCLA the week before. His status for this week’s game against Oregon is uncertain.
