Oklahoma player notes for Nov 6th, 2018

Austin Seibert – Noteworthy
K/P Austin Seibert set the NCAA record for both PATs made and attempted with his first extra point last week against Texas Tech. Seibert is four points away from tying Oklahoma’s career scoring record set by Michael Hunnicutt. Seibert is currently No. 8 in NCAA career scoring among kickers.

Marcelias Sutton – Noteworthy – Injury
RB Marcelias Sutton broke his leg in practice the week before the win over Texas Tech and will miss the remainder of the season. With Sutton’s absence, the Sooners have just three healthy scholarship running backs.

Tre Brown – Noteworthy
CB Tre Brown has been in the starting lineup ever since Ruffin McNeill took over as defensive coordinator three games ago and has solidified himself as the Sooners’ top cornerback. Last week against Texas Tech, the Red Raiders rarely challenged Brown but when they did, the sophomore came up with a few critical plays.

Trey Sermon – Noteworthy
RB Trey Sermon ran for a career-high 206 yards last week against Texas Tech, solidifying his place as the No. 1 running option on the team ahead of Kennedy Brooks. Seven of Sermon’s carries in that game were for 10 or more yards. The Sooners are No. 1 in rushing offense in the Big 12 with 246.8 yards per game, well ahead of second-place Oklahoma State at 200.1.
