Dolphins LB Jaelan Phillips (Achilles) carted off vs. Jets

Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips was carted off with an Achilles injury in the fourth quarter of Miami’s 34-13 victory over the New York Jets on Friday in East Rutherford, N.J.

The timetable for his absence was unclear.

“It’s his Achilles — doesn’t look great, but we’ll find out more tomorrow,” Miami coach Mike McDaniel said postgame. “Yeah, I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but not fired up about it.”

Phillips was injured in a non-contact play with 9:45 remaining. His leg gave out as he began rushing toward the Jets’ offensive backfield.

All of the Miami players came out on the field to support Phillips, who was highly emotional while being carted off the playing surface.

Phillips later posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Absolutely devastated, but I feel strength in knowing that this is all a part of God’s plan, and that I have an incredible team and support system around me. I’ll be back stronger than ever … Fins up”

Phillips had a sack and four tackles on Friday. The third-year pro has 43 tackles and 6.5 sacks in eight games (six starts) this season. He missed time with back and oblique injuries earlier this season.
