Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Zay Jones was arrested on a domestic battery charge on Monday, according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office jail records.
Jones is due in court Tuesday after his arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence. He hasn’t played the past four games due to a right knee injury.
The Jaguars issued a statement Monday night confirming they were aware of the arrest: “We are aware of the situation and are in the midst of gathering information. We will have no further comment at this time.”
Jones, 28, was booked at Duval County Jail at 6:03 p.m. ET with a first-degree misdemeanor charge listed as domestic battery causing bodily harm.
In 2018 while playing for the Buffalo Bills, Jones was arrested and charged with felony damage to property after an incident in Los Angeles involving his older brother, Cayleb. Zay Jones later confirmed his brother was keeping him from being injured further.
A second-round pick in 2017, Jones has eight catches for 78 yards with two touchdowns in 2023.
He has 261 career catches for 2,785 yards and 18 touchdowns.
