Buster Skrine – Important – Injury
CB Buster Skrine remains in concussion protocol, head coach Todd Bowles said, but he practiced on a limited basis for the second straight day. He suffered the concussion, his fourth in four seasons with the Jets, three weeks ago in the win over the Broncos.
Darron Lee – Noteworthy – Injury
ILB Darron Lee was a full practice participant after missing Wednesday’s practice due to an illness.
Marcus Maye – Important – Injury
FS Marcus Maye (thumb) was limited at practice for the second straight day. Said head coach Todd Bowles about the second-year player out of Florida: “It’s pain tolerance. … If he plays I expect him to be effective.”
Morris Claiborne – Important – Injury
CB Morris Claiborne (shoulder/foot) and LT Kelvin Beachum (back) were limited on Thursday after not practicing Wednesday.
Robby Anderson – Important – Injury
WR Robby Anderson missed practice for the second straight day Thursday. He has a sprained ankle, which head coach Todd Bowles said was “kind of in between” a high and low ankle sprain. The Jets are already without Quincy Enunwa, who is out with an ankle injury, so if Anderson can’t play Sunday in Chicago, the Jets will likely start Jermaine Kearse and Rishard Matthews, who they only signed on Tuesday, against the Bears. Charone Peake, Andre Roberts and Deontay Burnett could also see some playing time.
Spencer Long – Important – Injury
C Spencer Long (knee/finger) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday. When asked after practice if the injury was more his knee or more his finger, head coach Todd Bowles said “it’s both right now.” If Long can’t play Sunday, he’ll be replaced in the starting lineup by either Jonotthan Harrison or Dakota Dozier, Bowles said.
Trumaine Johnson – Important – Injury
CB Trumaine Johnson is expected to miss his fourth straight game with a quad injury.
