DreMont Jones – Noteworthy
Ohio State tumbled out of the Top 10 after being ambushed by Purdue on Saturday night. The Buckeyes, who were exposed on defense and saw their high-octane offense held in check in a 49-20 loss, dropped from No. 2 to No. 11 in the newest poll released on Sunday. Ohio State’s biggest rival, Michigan, took advantage of the Buckeyes’ blunder and moved up to No. 5 after beating Michigan State in East Lansing. Alabama throttled Tennessee 58-21 and maintained a stranglehold on the top spot. Clemson and Notre Dame moved up to No. 2 and No. 3. LSU sits at No. 4, setting up a huge matchup with the Crimson Tide on Nov. 3. Texas at No. 6, Georgia at No. 7, Oklahoma at No. 8, Florida at No. 9 and Central Florida round out the Top 10. Washington State made the biggest jump, climbing 11 spots to No.14 after handing Oregon a 34-20 loss. The Ducks dropped seven spots to No. 19. – The Sports Xchange
