Reports: Brewers signing 1B Luke Voit to minors deal

The Milwaukee Brewers are signing first baseman Luke Voit to a minor league deal that includes an invitation to spring training, multiple outlets reported Tuesday.

The 32-year-old free agent batted .226 with 22 homers and 69 RBIs in 135 games last season with the San Diego Padres and Washington Nationals.

Voit is a career .254 hitter with 95 homers and 272 RBIs in 486 games with the St. Louis Cardinals (2017-18), New York Yankees (2018-21), Padres and Nationals.

He led the majors with 22 home runs during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.
