The New York Mets and outfielder Tommy Pham are in agreement on a one-year, $6 million deal, multiple outlets reported Wednesday.
The Mets also agreed to terms to re-sign catcher Tomas Nido on a two-year deal worth $3.7 million, per reports.
Pham, a 34-year-old free agent, split last season between the Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox and batted .236 with 17 homers and 63 RBIs in 144 games.
Pham is a career .259 hitter with 114 home runs and 363 RBIs in 876 games with the St. Louis Cardinals (2014-18), Tampa Bay Rays (2018-19), San Diego Padres (2020-21), Reds and Red Sox.
In 13 career games at the Mets’ Citi Field, Pham has produced a .362/.455/.575 slash line with three homers and eight RBIs.
His role in New York will likely be as a fourth outfielder behind Starling Marte, Brandon Nimmo and Mark Canha, in addition to at-bats as a designated hitter.
Nido’s deal will pay him $1.6 million in 2023 and $2.1 in 2024, the catcher’s remaining arbitration years, per the reports.
Nido, 28, batted .239 with three home runs and 28 RBIs for the Mets last season. He threw out 21 percent of baserunners trying to steal, down 3 points from the league average.
