Key Points:
- Joel Klatt predicted Alabama would take down LSU 31-20 in their crucial Week 11 matchup.
- The Fox Sports analyst didn’t hold back, saying LSU “stinks” and lacks upset potential.
- LSU has only beaten Alabama once since 2021, highlighting the Tide’s dominance in the rivalry.
The Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers matchup is set to be one of the biggest matchups in Week 11 of the 2025 college football season. Analysts haven’t shied away from sharing their input, including Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt.
Of course, each team is fighting for something different, as Alabama strives to build off its 7-1 record in search of an SEC title and College Football Playoff appearance. Meanwhile, 5-3 LSU is playing damage control, set to play its first game since firing head coach Brian Kelly. It’s certainly an opportunity for the Tigers to play spoiler, though, after the Crimson Tide earned the No. 4 spot on the CFP committee’s first rankings.
In a video posted to “The Joel Klatt Show: A College Football Podcast,” the Fox Sports analyst revealed who he believes comes out on top.
“I’ve got Bama winning this game 31-20… They continue their run in the SEC which has been incredibly impressive after that first game where they lost to Florida State,” Klatt said. “I think Bama wins. I like Bama to still go to the SEC Championship Game.”
Over the past few seasons, LSU has struggled against Alabama. In their last five meetings, the Tigers have beaten the Crimson Tide just once. That came in 2021, during a thrilling 32-31 overtime game in Baton Rouge.

Joel Klatt Says LSU “Stinks”
An upset is always possible, as ESPN BET places LSU as a 9.5-point underdog. However, Klatt had no problem shutting down the possibility of an upset.
“LSU stinks guys,” Klatt said. “Like I don’t know how else to put it. They’re not a good football team, that’s why Brian Kelly was fired. I don’t believe they’re going to go on the road and all of a sudden stun Alabama. There’s been no evidence that all of a sudden they’re going to get this together.
Of course, no matter what happens in Week 11, it’s been an incredibly disappointing season for the Tigers. They entered Week 1 ranked No. 9 on the AP Top 25 Poll. However, with four regular games remaining, their SEC title and College Football Playoff hopes are gone.
