Near-Perfect Game by McCown Wins for UTSA over Tulane
It’s probably not possible for any football player to have a perfect game, but the UTSA quarterback came really close in the Roadrunners’ 48-26 upset win over Tulane in the Thursday night game played in San Antonio.
Owen McCown, a redshirt junior, completed 31 of 33 passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. He completed his first 16 pass attempts in the game and completed the game with a 93.9 completion percentage, easily breaking all-time team records in those categories.
The win gave the Roadrunners a 4-4 record leaving team just two victories from postseason bowl eligibility. The loss was Tulane’s first conference defeat of the season.
For his performance, UTSA quarterback Owen McCown has been recognized as the Academy Sports + Outdoors Award, Player of the Week.
