Undefeated North Texas entertained South Florida, losers to only the No. 2 ranked Miami Hurricanes, in a game that would have conference significance and could impact national rankings and postseason bowl selections.
Would the Bulls be up to the road challenge playing at DATCU Stadium in Denton? The answer was a resounding yes, largely due to the performance of quarterback Byrum Brown.
The senior from Rolesville, N.C., completed 22 of 28 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for 82 yards and two more scores in the 63-36 victory. It was the second consecutive game in which Brown has accounted for five touchdowns.
For his performance, Byrum Brown has been named the winner of the Academy Sports + Outdoors Award, Player of the Week.
