Academy Sports + Outdoors Award
Player of the Week … Week 3, 2025 Season
When undefeated Ole Miss hosted undefeated Arkansas in Oxford on Saturday, Austin Simmons was supposed to quarterback the Rebels offense. But after a brief start, Simmons, who was injured the previous week against Kentucky, couldn’t go, so Lane Kiffin was forced to call on his back-up, Trinidad Chambliss, to get the job done.
Led by Chambliss, who had transferred from Division II Ferris State after taking the Bulldogs to the national championship last season, the Ole Miss offense never missed a beat.
He completed 21 of 29 passes for 353 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. He ran for 62 yards and another touchdown, giving him 415 yards total offense. The Rebels were seven for seven in the red zone and had no turnovers in the game.
For his performance in the 41-35 victory, senior quarterback Trinidad Chambliss has been chosen for the Academy Sports + Outdoors Award, Player of the Week.
