Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will start Monday’s game against the visiting Chicago Bears, coach Mike Tomlin announced.

Roethlisberger’s availability came into question after he was listed with a right shoulder injury during Friday’s practice report. He already is nursing both hip and pectoral injuries.

“Ben’s playing,” Tomlin said Saturday. “It’s just things to manage. He’s been doing this a long time. I’ve been doing it a long time with him. We generally do a good job of communicating and managing such things. You should anticipate him playing.”

Roethlisberger, 39, has thrown for 1,781 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions in seven games this season.

A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Roethlisberger has thrown for 62,129 yards with 404 touchdowns and 205 interceptions in 240 career games with the Steelers.

The Steelers (4-3) carry a three-game winning streak into Monday’s game against the Bears (3-5), who have lost three in a row.
