Before the game, it was a popular choice to take North Carolina State to knock off Clemson. The Wolfpack had lost eight in a row to the Tigers and led 14-7 heading into the fourth quarter. But, when Clemson scored a touchdown to send the game into overtime, the game was in doubt.

Each team scored a touchdown and converted the extra point in the first overtime, extending the game for another extra period.

North Carolina State had the ball first to start the second overtime. That’s when quarterback Denis Leary threw a 22-yard scoring strike to wide receiver Devin Carter, who made a twisting adjustment to come down in the back of the end zone. After the missed two-point conversion, the Wolfpack led, 27-21.

The game still wasn’t over. Clemson had one more possession, but when a fourth down pass fell incomplete, the home team had the upset.

For the day, Leary threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns. Carter caught five passes for 54 yards, including two scores. His touchdown reception in double overtime has been named the U.S. Farm Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”

Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”

The Catfish Institute, or TCI, was formed in 1986 by catfish farmers and feed manufacturers to raise consumer awareness of the positive qualities of U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. Since its formation, U.S. per capita consumption has more than doubled.

U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish is a sustainable and environmentally friendly seafood product. The National Audubon Society, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Environmental Defense all recommend U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish as a safe environmental choice. To find out more, visit www.uscatfish.com.
