Former Kansas wide receiver Evan Fairs is transferring to Virginia Tech.
“After a good talk with my parents and the coaches I have decided to commit to Virginia Tech!! Let’s get to work,” he posted Thursday on Twitter.
As a graduate transfer, Fairs will be able to play his final collegiate season with the Hokies in 2020.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Texas native played in 26 games for the Jayhawks from 2016-19. He caught 28 passes for 392 yards and one touchdown.
Fairs joins a depleted Virginia Tech receiver corps that saw four players enter the NCAA transfer portal in January: Jacoby Pinckney, Damon Hazelton, Hezekiah Grimsley and Phil Patterson.
