GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Last week, Louisville was run over, through and around by Georgia Tech’s option offense as the Yellow Jackets put up a ridiculous 542 yards rushing and threw the ball only twice in a 66-31 rout. This brings us back to the availability of BC’s AJ Dillon, who missed the loss at NC State. If Dillon is back and functioning, the BC offense should be able to run the ball against this shaky defense.

DRAFT SLANT

–DE Zach Allen continues to impress the pro scouts. NFLDraftScout.com has him rated as the No. 2 defensive end in the country. With All-American Harold Landry hurt for most of last season, Allen led the charge for the Eagles up front. He is an athletic DE who was able to fly through the air to pick up a fumble in the loss at Purdue. He had two sacks and four tackles for loss in the win over Temple, giving him 15.5 career sacks — tied for ninth in program history — and 33 tackles for loss — tied for sixth — against the Owls. At N.C. State, he was in on six tackles, 0.5 for loss, and also had the second interception of his college career.

ROSTER REPORT:

–RB AJ Dillon rolled his left ankle in the win over Temple and missed the game at NC State. His availability for this week’s game against Louisville remained in doubt. Dillon’s 2,241 career yards rushing are already 12th on BC’s all-time list and he’s in just his second season.

–S Lukas Denis, rated as the No. 2 free safety in the country on NFLDraftScout.com’s prospect list, has also been seeing time at cornerback.

–WR Jeff Smith, a former quarterback who threw his sixth career touchdown pass in the latest win, left the Temple game in the second half with an upper body injury but was active last week.

–WR Michael Walker had four returns for 95 yards, moving into second place on the school’s all-time list with 87 returns. He also caught three passes for 72 yards.

–S Michael Palmer blocked a punt that RB Travis Levy turned into a late touchdown. He was also in on 10 tackles, five solo, and broke up a pass.

–S Will Harris was in on nine tackles and also posted a fumble recovery.

–LB Kevin Bletzer had his first college interception and also blocked a field goal.

–LB Isaiah McDuffie made his first college start and set a career high of 13 tackles in the loss.
