COLUMBUS, Ohio — No. 6 Ohio State rallied from a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit to stun No. 2 Penn State 39-38 at Ohio Stadium on Saturday.
J.T. Barrett was 33 of 39 for 328 yards with four touchdowns and put himself back in the Heisman Trophy picture.
Trailing 35-20, Ohio State (7-1, 5-0 Big Ten) went 76 yards in 1:17, capped by Barrett’s 10-yard TD pass to Johnnie Dixon, but the two-point run by Dixon failed and the Buckeyes trailed 38-33 with 4:20 left.
Then Barrett led the Buckeyes 55 yards in 1:19 for the go-ahead score, a 16-yard pass to Marcus Baugh with 1:45 to play. Penn State (7-1, 4-1) ran four plays and turned the ball over as the crowd of 109,302 roared.
No. 3 Georgia 42, Florida 7
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Bulldogs (8-0, 5-0 SEC) dominated the rival Gators from beginning to end, sacking quarterback Feleipe Franks five times and outgaining Florida in total offense 390-249.
Senior running back Sony Michel, a Florida native, enjoyed a stellar day by rushing six times for 137 yards, pushing him over the 3,000-yard mark for his career.
Backfield mate Nick Chubb also left his stamp on the game, rushing for 77 yards and one touchdown. Freshman quarterback Jake Fromm attempted just seven passes, completing four for 101 yards and one touchdown on a 17-yard pass to Javon Wims.
No. 25 Iowa State 14, No. 4 TCU 7
AMES, Iowa — Kyle Kempt threw two touchdown passes as the Cyclones upset the Horned Frogs at Jack Trice Stadium.
The Horned Frogs (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) entered the game with the press clippings on defense, but the Cyclones (6-2, 4-1) showed dominance of their own, shutting out TCU’s offense.
TCU managed a season-low in points and had almost as many penalties (11 for 104 yards) as first downs (14). The Horned Frogs’ only touchdown came on a 94-yard kickoff return by KaVontae Turpin to open the second half.
No. 5 Wisconsin 24, Illinois 10
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Left tackle Michael Deiter took a lateral from quarterback Alex Hornibrook and scored a 4-yard touchdown in the Badgers’ 24-10 win in Memorial Stadium.
The 6-foot-6, 328-pound junior swerved to the sideline and rumbled into the end zone as his fellow linemen walled off a couple of defenders.
The first touchdown of Deiter’s career upped the advantage to 24-3 for Wisconsin (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten), which has started a season with eight consecutive wins for the first time since 2004.
It was not the finest hour for the Badgers, who managed a season-low 303 yards against a team giving up nearly 410 yards per game. But defense, a spate of killer mistakes from Illinois (2-6, 0-5) and a well-conceived trick play carried the day for Wisconsin.
No. 8 Miami 24, North Carolina 19
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Malik Rosier threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns as the Hurricanes held off the Tar Heels.
Miami (7-0, 5-0 ACC) has a 12-game winning streak for its longest stretch of success since 2002 and has its best start in conference play since joining the ACC. It was the Hurricanes’ fourth victory in a row by eight points or less.
Beau Corrales scored on two touchdown receptions for North Carolina (1-8, 0-6), which has lost six games in a row. The Tar Heels have dropped seven consecutive home games dating to last season.
No. 9 Notre Dame 35, No. 14 North Carolina State 14
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Josh Adams rushed for 202 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries, while quarterback Brandon Wimbush passed for two scores and ran for another as the Fighting Irish cruised to victory.
Notre Dame (7-1) has not been at a loss for good vibes lately, winning six consecutive games by at least 20 points.
The Wolfpack (6-2) saw their winning streak snapped at six games, struggling to mount consistent offense to match Notre Dame.
No. 11 Oklahoma State 50, No. 22 West Virginia 39
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — Mason Rudolph tossed three touchdown passes, and backup running back J.D. King ran for 142 yards, but it was the Cowboys’ ball-hawking defense that deserved the game ball for the second consecutive week.
Oklahoma State (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) forced five turnovers on a rainy day to remain in the thick of the conference race.
The Cowboys beat the Mountaineers (5-3, 3-2) for the third straight season by frustrating FBS touchdown-pass leader Will Grier, who was intercepted four times, one fewer than his season total before the game.

SEATTLE — Josh Rosen went to the locker room with an undisclosed injury in the third quarter, unable to help the Bruins keep pace with the Huskies’ rushing attack.
Myles Gaskin ran for 169 of Washington’s 333 rushing yards with a touchdown, and Lavon Coleman added 94 and three scores for the Huskies (7-1, 4-1 Pac-12)
Rosen left the game in the third quarter after he’d been sacked four times. He’d earlier given life to a potential upset by UCLA (4-4, 2-3) with 10:23 left in the first half, hitting Jordan Wilson with a bullet over the middle to bring the Bruins within 10-9.
Northwestern 39, No. 16 Michigan State 31 (3OT)
EVANSTON, Ill. — Clayton Thorson threw for two touchdowns after the end of regulation to help the Wildcats upset the Spartans at Ryan Field.
Thorson, who went 33 of 48 for 356 yards, found Flynn Nagel for a 22-yard touchdown in the third overtime period, then connected with Cameron Green on the two-point conversion attempt.
On the ensuing drive by Michigan State (6-2, 4-1 Big Ten), quarterback Brian Lewerke fumbled the ball but managed to recover it and roll out of the pocket, only to launch a prayer into the end zone. Linebacker Nate Hall intercepted the pass for the final play of the game for Northwestern (5-3, 3-2).
Houston 28, No. 17 South Florida 24
TAMPA, Fla. — The Cougars converted a fourth-and-24 on the winning drive and received a 20-yard touchdown run from quarterback D’Eriq King to stun the Bulls at Raymond James Stadium.
The Bulls (7-1, 4-1 American Athletic) had taken a 24-21 lead on a 30-yard field goal with 1:46 left, but the Cougars (5-3, 3-2) rallied to end the nation’s longest winning streak at 12 games and deny the Bulls’ hopes of a perfect season.
After a 30-yard field goal by USF’s Emilio Nadelman with 1:46 left, Houston got a 50-yard kickoff return from Brandon McDowell to shorten the field for a potential tying field goal. King, easing into a larger role off the bench, threw a 30-yard pass to Courtney Lark on fourth-and-24 from the Houston 37. On third down at the USF 20 with no timeouts, simply wanting to shorten a tying kick, King scrambled in for the winning score.
No. 18 Central Florida 73, Austin Peay 33
ORLANDO, Fla. — Quarterback McKenzie Milton completed 24 of 26 passes and accounted for four touchdowns, as the Knights tuned up for November with a rout at Spectrum Stadium.
Milton threw three touchdown passes, two to Dredrick Snelson, and was one of four Knights (7-0, 4-0 AAC) to rush for scores in another prolific performance by the UCF offense.
Austin Peay quarterback Jeremiah Oatsvall completed 12 of 18 passes for 209 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for the Governors (5-4), who are contenders in the Ohio Valley Conference of the FCS.
