Green Bay Packers player notes for Oct 9th, 2018

*Aaron Jones – Noteworthy
RB Aaron Jones had just seven carries for 40 yards on Sunday, and he barely had any touches in the second half. Mike McCarthy said that was simply a product of the situation, with the Packers trailing 24-0 at halftime.

Aaron Rodgers – Important
QB Aaron Rodgers did not make excuses for his performance on Sunday, when he completed 32 of 52 passes for 442 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Head coach Mike McCarthy hinted that Rodgers is limited physically. “He’s playing through a lot going into the game,” said McCarthy. “He’s playing through a lot in the game. He gives us a lot and that’s the reality of it.”

Davante Adams – Important – Injury
WR Davante Adams had a big game with nine catches for 140 yards and a score on Sunday. He had been questionable for the game with a calf injury.

Equanimeous St. Brown – Noteworthy
WR Equanimeous St. Brown had the first three catches of his career on Sunday. The rookie had 89 receiving yards in the game. He had played in only one previous game and was not targeted in that contest.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling – Noteworthy
WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling had only two receptions for 4 yards this season before Sunday, but he had seven catches for 68 yards and his first touchdown of the season against the Lions.

Mason Crosby – Noteworthy
K Mason Crosby endured the worst day of his professional career. Crosby misfired on four of five field-goal attempts and missed an extra point to boot in the Green Bay Packers’ 31-23 setback to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The field goal he made came from 41 yards out in the waning moments in the contest. “Well, obviously shocked; it’s never happened to me,” said the 34-year-old Crosby, who is the Packers’ career scoring leader and a former Pro Bowl selection. “That’s never happened to me. It doesn’t happen. So I’m going to evaluate it but I’m going to (chalk) it up to something that is an anomaly in life that I’ve never even been a part of. So I’m going to evaluate the details like I do every week and move on. Because that one for me is something that I’ve never been a part of and hope to never be part of again.”
