PLAYERS TO WATCH

–RB AJ Dillon, a preseason All-American, rebounded from a tough week at Purdue to run for 161 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries in the win over Temple. But he also sprained his left ankle in the game and missed last week’s game at NC State. “It was in (Dillon’s) best interest medically not to be in a plane,” coach Steve Addazio said. “When you go up in a plane in altitude, it creates more swelling … so that was a medical decision solely to leave him home.”

–QB Anthony Brown, who became an instant star with five touchdown passes at Wake Forest, had a dreadful day at Purdue, going 13-of-27 for just 98 yards, four interceptions and one touchdown. He wasn’t great against Temple, either, going 15-of-33 for 139 yards and two TDs. That’s a combined 28-of-60 (47 percent) in two games. He has 13 touchdowns and four interceptions on the season with all four picks coming in the loss at Purdue.

–RB Ben Glines, a redshirt sophomore moved from wide receiver, ran for 120 yards on 23 carries in the win over Temple. The kid runs hard and has become a real part of this team’s rushing attack — and last week he ran for 90 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown, and caught two passes for 19 yards, including an 11-yard TD.

–DE Wyatt Ray, who is Nat King Cole’s grandson and Natalie Cole’s nephew, had a career game at Wake but was quieter at Purdue. His performance the previous week earned him the Walter Camp defensive player of the week and ACC top defensive linemen honors. He was quiet against Temple with just one stop and then was kept off the stat sheet at NC State.

–DE Zach Allen had two sacks against Temple, moving him into a tie for ninth place on BC’s all-time list, with 15.5. He had four tackles for loss and moved into a tie for sixth place on that list, with 33. While he didn’t add a sack last week, he was in on six tackles and also posted his second college interception.

SERIES HISTORY: Louisville leads Boston College 6-4 and owns a 3-2 record at Chestnut Hill. Last year, BC won 45-42 at Louisville (and soon-to-be Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson), with Colton Lichtenberg kicking a 27-yard field goal as time expired.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “No matter how bad the game looked, in the hostile environment, we continued to fight. I appreciate that more than anything right now. If we played better in the first half? Probably a different final right now.” — QB Anthony Brown after the 28-23 loss at NC State.
