Derrick Shelby – Noteworthy – Injury
DE Derrick Shelby continues to deal with a groin issue. He missed the last two games and may still be a week away from returning.

DE Derrick Shelby (groin) is expected to return for the Falcons this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Devonta Freeman – Noteworthy – Injury
RV Devonta Freeman (knee) might return this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers after missing three games because of a knee injury, head coach Dan Quinn said.
Freeman practiced on a limited basis last week and Quinn said he expects his star running back to be a full participant leading up to the game against the Steelers.

RB Devonta Freeman has been practicing. The club is hopeful that Freeman is close to returning from his knee contusion.

Grady Jarrett – Noteworthy – Injury
DT Grady Jarrett, who injured an ankle in a Week 4 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, will miss Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
According to head coach Dan Quinn, Jarrett’s situation is “week-to-week” and that he will be re-evaluated soo

Michael Bennett – Noteworthy – Transaction
DT Michael Bennett was signed and added to the active roster to possibly help with the pass rush. He was a sixth-round pick by Jacksonville in 2015.

DT Michael Bennett was signed by the Falcons Tuesday (Oct. 2). He had been waived by the Jaguars Sept. 11. Bennett was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round of the 2015 draft out of Ohio State. During his rookie season he played in 13 games and recorded 10 total tackles. He played in one game for Jacksonville in 2017.

Mohamed Sanu – Noteworthy
WR Mohamed Sanu is coming off his best receiving game since joining the club. He caught six balls for 111 yards against the Bengals, the third-most in his career.

Takkarist McKinley – Noteworthy
DE Takk McKinley was able to get past a groin injury and played against the Bengals. He had three sacks, all in the second half, becoming the fifth Falcons player to accomplish the feat.
